Movement for Mental Health

Movement for Mental Health at Friary Care

On Friday 17th May we decided to mark mental health awareness week by recognising this year’s current theme of ‘movement for mental health’.

The whole team, including residents, staff and visitors took on the challenge of cycling and walking over 100 miles in one day, visiting many local landmarks, including Hardys monument, The Cerne Giant and Bovington Tank Museum, all from the comfort of our own home at Kingsley Court!

Using seated exercise bikes, a treadmill and a spin bike we embarked on our adventure all together, with home made cakes, fruit and snacks along the way! In the afternoon, Connie-Lee joined us with some singing to chivvy us up on the last leg of the journey.

We raised over £200 in aid of MIND, the nationwide charity supporting mental health. Well-done everyone, what a fabulous, team building, tiring but worthwhile day!

My grandmother is extremely happy at Friary House. The staff are hardworking, kind, caring and always smiling. As a family, we feel comfort knowing our grandmother/mother is safe and happy. At Friary House, the team are exceptional. Thank you!

Our commitment to your safe care

Throughout the pandemic we have been advised by the Department of Health, The Care Quality Commission, Public Health England, and our dedicated GP. This has ensured our ability to give the maximum protection to those who have made their home with Friary Care, our staff and their families. All our staff and residents have been offered the Covid-19 vaccine and we are looking to the future with a much easier heart.
