The role of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as an independent regulator, is to register health and adult social care service providers in England and to inspect whether or not standards are being met.
Both of our care homes in Weymouth are regularly inspected by independent bodies and we are proud of the outcomes highlighted in our CQC inspection reports. We are inspected on the following elements (the key lines of enquiry):
- Are they safe?
- Are they effective?
- Are they caring?
- Are they responsive to people’s needs?
- Are they well-led?

Friary Care Internal Reviews
CQC make sure we provide all our residents with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage our care services to improve by monitoring, inspecting and rating the service we provide, we highly value what they do with us.
We are inspected by them approximately every two years, more frequently if they have any concerns. Because of the contribution these inspections make to our desire to be a comprehensively good provider we have now begun to undertake our own evaluations every six months, based on the same principles espoused by CQC and subject these evaluations to independent review, our residents and their family can see these reviews at any time.
Being inspected and evaluated is what makes us a good care provider, we have nothing to hide, ask us for our reports and evaluations.
