At Friary Care we want to celebrate Cycling Without Age, an incredible charity that provides free ‘trishaw’ cycle rides to members of the local community with limited mobility.
Members of the charity give wonderful and exciting cycle rides in order to show lots of people the beauty of Weymouth where they otherwise might not have the chance.
Cycling Without Age is made up of such an amazing team. Des is the person who started it all off in Weymouth, setting up the charity. Keith provides repair work, cycling, and more. And there are a whole host of phenomenal volunteers all providing their free time (and leg power!) to give the people of Weymouth (including our very appreciative residents!) a tour around the local area and ultimately provide miles of smiles!
Some of the comments from our residents have been:
“Loved going out on the bikes! It’s like freedom whilst sat back and relaxing!” (Jean)
“It’s incredible there’s so many kind-hearted people to provide a service that others benefit from! I enjoyed it so much!” (Olive)
The staff and residents at Friary Care want to celebrate Cycling Without Age, and sing their praises, but we also want to announce that we’re doing some fundraising events for Cycling Without Age: we’re having a Christmas raffle, and we’re also having a ‘Guess the Baby’s Name’ competition for our Deputy Manager, Beth, who is due in December (please get in touch to find out more)!
So make sure you dig deep for such a wonderful charity as they really provide an absolutely superb service to our residents and the wider community as a whole!
