Residents enjoyed a taste of the capital as Friary Care was transformed for a fun-filled London-themed day. From decorations and live entertainment to cocktails, dancing and delicious food, there was plenty to keep everyone entertained.
The home was decorated with a London theme, setting the scene for our residents and staff to enjoy their very own ‘tour’ of the city without having to leave Weymouth.
Cocktails, Live Music and Plenty of Dancing
The celebrations continued with cocktails and fantastic live entertainment from Georgy Broad, who performed a selection of well-known songs from across the decades.
It wasn’t long before the music had everyone singing along, tapping their feet and getting up for a dance. Live music is always popular with our residents and creates a wonderful opportunity to have fun, reminisce and enjoy time together.
From Chinatown to World Cup Football
Next on our London ‘tour’ was a trip to Chinatown, with residents sitting down together to enjoy a delicious Chinese meal with friends.
The day was rounded off with another favourite activity, watching England play in the World Cup. After a day of music, dancing, food and laughter, it was the perfect way to finish our London-themed adventure.
Creating Fun and Engaging Experiences for Residents
Themed days are just one of the many ways we create varied and engaging experiences for residents at Friary Care. Bringing together food, music, decorations and entertainment gives everyone the opportunity to get involved while encouraging social interaction and creating plenty of happy memories.
We certainly had a whale of a ‘Thames’ and, by the end of the day, we had well and truly ‘Lon-done’ it all!
