Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day in Weymouth

Friary Care residents had a wonderful day raising awareness for the Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day!

This event actually took place on 17th June but we decided to celebrate it on 30th July as this was National Friendship Day, and what better way to spend it having cakes with our friends!

We sold cakes and had a raffle, and managed to raise £210. We had a lovely bbq, tea/coffee with cake, and a glass of fizz for tea. But most importantly we shared each other’s company reminiscing about old friends whilst chilling out with some music. To mark the day, together we made a memory tree where we all wrote down a cherished memory and stuck it onto our tree.

All in all it was a fun-filled day spent with good friends!

A wonderful spread for Alzheimers Cupcake Day

My grandmother is extremely happy at Friary House. The staff are hardworking, kind, caring and always smiling. As a family, we feel comfort knowing our grandmother/mother is safe and happy. At Friary House, the team are exceptional. Thank you!

Throughout the pandemic we have been advised by the Department of Health, The Care Quality Commission, Public Health England, and our dedicated GP. This has ensured our ability to give the maximum protection to those who have made their home with Friary Care, our staff and their families. All our staff and residents have been offered the Covid-19 vaccine and we are looking to the future with a much easier heart.
