Celebrating our Student Placement at Friary Care

Kaitlyn studying Health and Social Care at Weymouth College

Friary Care is proud to work with Weymouth College!

We love to care for our residents but we also love to show others what advantages we have as a team and encourage others into the care industry. Because of this we’ve been working alongside Weymouth College and supporting students to achieve their training goals in health and social care.

Friary Care was very privileged to work with a caring young lady called Kaitlyn who has touched many lives here at Friary House.

Here are a few words from Kaitlyn about her placement with us here at Friary House:

“I started at Friary House on the 17th of October 2022 and finished on the 8th of February 2023. I am studying Health and Social Care at Weymouth College, and as part of my qualification I completed a placement within health and social care.”

“Due to Covid I did not get to complete a placement in my first year of the course, which made me more excited to get the experience in my second year. I am very grateful to Friary House for giving me this experience and opportunity to learn from them. I have really enjoyed working alongside all of the staff who have made me feel very welcome and part of the team.”

“I have also really enjoyed getting to know all the residents and spending time with them individually and as a group while completing activities. I have enjoyed all the activities with the residents including art, crafts, music, going on walks, playing games, donkeys visiting, and going on rickshaw bikes! I have found working at Friary house to be very rewarding, and I can see how happy all of the residents are and how nothing is ever a problem for the staff.”

We would like to say a big thank you to Kaitlyn for her time here at Friary Care and would like to encourage anyone who is considering a career in care to get in touch!

My grandmother is extremely happy at Friary House. The staff are hardworking, kind, caring and always smiling. As a family, we feel comfort knowing our grandmother/mother is safe and happy. At Friary House, the team are exceptional. Thank you!

Our commitment to your safe care

Throughout the pandemic we have been advised by the Department of Health, The Care Quality Commission, Public Health England, and our dedicated GP. This has ensured our ability to give the maximum protection to those who have made their home with Friary Care, our staff and their families. All our staff and residents have been offered the Covid-19 vaccine and we are looking to the future with a much easier heart.
