At Friary Care, supporting emotional wellbeing and social connection is an important part of everyday life. As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we hosted a relaxing cocktail party for residents, creating an enjoyable opportunity to socialise, unwind and spend quality time together.
Encouraging Social Connection and Positive Wellbeing
Residents enjoyed a selection of colourful mocktails and cocktails while chatting with friends in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The event encouraged conversation, laughter and meaningful interaction, helping residents feel connected and engaged within the home.
Music played softly throughout the afternoon, creating a calm and uplifting environment where residents could relax and enjoy each other’s company. It was wonderful to see so many residents smiling, reminiscing and building friendships through shared experiences.
The Importance of Social Activities in Care Homes
Social activities play a vital role in supporting mental wellbeing, confidence and happiness. Events like our cocktail party help reduce feelings of isolation while encouraging residents to stay socially active and emotionally connected.
At Friary Care, we believe that creating opportunities for residents to spend time together in enjoyable and supportive settings has a positive impact on overall wellbeing.
Creating a Warm and Supportive Community
The cocktail party was a fantastic success and highlighted the importance of community within our care home. Through activities, events and meaningful social interaction, we continue to promote a caring environment where residents feel valued, included and supported.
Mental Health Awareness Week serves as an important reminder that wellbeing matters every day, and at Friary Care in Weymouth, we remain committed to supporting both the emotional and social wellbeing of all our residents.
