Friary Care Dementia Week

Dementia Week

Everyone at Friary Care supports the cause of Dementia Week.

Dementia Action Week takes place 17th – 23rd May 2021. It is a positive campaign to highlight the lives of people affected by dementia.

Dementia is something that means a lot to us at Friary Care. It’s a terrible disease that comes in many forms, and can rob independence from the ones we love most.

So we want to give back to our loved ones, we want to ensure that the right support is given to maximise quality of life, and that everyone can do what matters most to them for as long as possible.

To celebrate this ideal we’ve been making a wonderful range of takeaway cake with tea and coffee, with all proceeds going to charity.

We’ve decorated the home with lots of lovely purple balloons, which is the symbol of dementia support, and it was so nice to see the residents also joining in by wearing some amazing purple clothes.

A big shout out to everyone who has supported this event, but more importantly a big, big thank you to our wonderful residents. Our thoughts are with all families who are living with such a horrible disease.

My grandmother is extremely happy at Friary House. The staff are hardworking, kind, caring and always smiling. As a family, we feel comfort knowing our grandmother/mother is safe and happy. At Friary House, the team are exceptional. Thank you!

Our commitment to your safe care

Throughout the pandemic we have been advised by the Department of Health, The Care Quality Commission, Public Health England, and our dedicated GP. This has ensured our ability to give the maximum protection to those who have made their home with Friary Care, our staff and their families. All our staff and residents have been offered the Covid-19 vaccine and we are looking to the future with a much easier heart.
