We are pleased to announce that we have recently upgraded our washing machines at Friary House and Kingsley Court residential homes. Our new Ozone Washer Systems are the flagship standard for hospitals and care homes – providing unrivalled protection against infection in an eco-friendly way with the new OTEX technology.
Winning the fight against contamination
The new OTEX Technology promotes natural disinfection at low temperatures – which kills 99.999% of bacteria and germs, including MRSA and C.diff. It works by using a safe O3 gas at low temperatures to convert air into 90% oxygen. This removes the need for water heating as found in traditional washing machines. In turn, we are able to cut down on detergent, energy and water costs by up to 35%. After each cycle, the washer can even print out disinfection verification receipts!
The result for our residents is fluffier towels, a pleasant fragrance and peace of mind that Friary Care are using the best industry practices to reduce any risk of contamination.
Peter Fry, Managing Director of Friary Care, says:
“We are thrilled to have implemented the OTEX washer system at our care homes. The fact that the Ozone washer is so good for the environment and reduces costs was a major factor in our decision to upgrade.
It goes without saying that we do a lot of washing at Friary Care. Now, we’re using around half as much laundry detergent, and our utility costs will be reduced.
The disinfection verification confirms that our methods meet the Essential Quality Requirement as set out by Choice Framework. So, we’re excited to be part of the healthcare driving force in implementing this fantastic technology at Friary Care.”
