Gentlemen’s Day Celebrations at Friary Care in Weymouth

gentlemens day table set up

Gentlemen’s Day was a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate all the important men in our lives. While the occasion coincided with Father’s Day, it was also a chance to honour grandfathers, grandads, brothers, uncles, sons, step dads, close friends and every gentleman who has made a positive difference to others.

Residents enjoyed a day filled with good food, family, friendship and activities that made the occasion truly special.

A Day of Family, Food and Football

The home was decorated for the celebrations as residents welcomed visits from family and friends throughout the day. Everyone gathered around the table for a traditional roast dinner, while those who fancied it enjoyed a refreshing beer and plenty of football on the television.

These simple moments of togetherness help create lasting memories and are an important part of life at Friary Care.

Enjoying Armed Forces Weekend in Weymouth

The celebrations were made even more memorable as they coincided with Armed Forces Weekend. Residents enjoyed a stroll along Weymouth Promenade, where they admired an impressive display of historic military vehicles organised by the Dorset Military Vehicle Association.

The outing also featured a fantastic programme of live entertainment, including performances from The Decadettes, the South Wales Police Band and the Weymouth Community Choir, creating a lively atmosphere that residents thoroughly enjoyed.

Celebrating Meaningful Moments Together

Special occasions like Gentlemen’s Day provide valuable opportunities for residents to spend quality time with loved ones, enjoy community events and celebrate the people who mean the most to them.

From everyone at Friary Care, we hope all of our gentlemen, along with their families and friends, had a wonderful Gentlemen’s Day.

My grandmother is extremely happy at Friary House. The staff are hardworking, kind, caring and always smiling. As a family, we feel comfort knowing our grandmother/mother is safe and happy. At Friary House, the team are exceptional. Thank you!
