The bees want to stay

It’s buzzing at Friary Care

It has been buzzing in the Friary Care garden this week – quite literally!

A colony of bees decided to make their home on the garden back wall which was absolutely fascinating to watch.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t practical to have them take up residency with us, so we called upon a local bee expert called Nick Knight from the Weymouth & Dorchester Beekeepers Association.

He safely collected the bees and has re-homed them in a new hive near Sutton Poyntz and The White Horse, where he hopes they will make a new colony and start producing honey.

We have made a donation of £50.00 to the local bee keepers association as a thank you gesture for Nick’s help and his great sense of humour when he visited!

My grandmother is extremely happy at Friary House. The staff are hardworking, kind, caring and always smiling. As a family, we feel comfort knowing our grandmother/mother is safe and happy. At Friary House, the team are exceptional. Thank you!

Our commitment to your safe care

Throughout the pandemic we have been advised by the Department of Health, The Care Quality Commission, Public Health England, and our dedicated GP. This has ensured our ability to give the maximum protection to those who have made their home with Friary Care, our staff and their families. All our staff and residents have been offered the Covid-19 vaccine and we are looking to the future with a much easier heart.
