To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, Friary Care has put together four days of fun-filled activities.
Everything has started with decorating the homes with all things royal. This has involved adorning the homes with residents’ arts and crafts (with lots of crowns, carriages, and even Paddington Bear!), posters of King Charles, and various wall posters of famous spots of London. Plus the residents and all of the staff have dressed for the occasion with a patriotic red, white, and royal blue! All in all, we really have brought London to Weymouth!
We’ve had an amazing street party (even if it might be inside), and we’ve all enjoyed watching the procession of King Charles and Queen Camilla, and then taking our photo with them as we’ve managed to get some cheeky cardboard cut-outs of the two esteemed royals. We’ve had music, with Martin and The Choir providing some lovely tunes, we’ve also had a fun quiz that was all about the royal family, and we’ve also had a moment reminiscing about the previous coronation over a lovely glass of champagne. All the while we’ve had a breakfast fit for a King, an afternoon tea (with homemade cakes) fit for a King with family and friends, and traditional fish and chips fit for a King – truly a feast fit for a King in lots of different ways!
This weekend we’ve had so much fun and laughter, we really have celebrated the Friary Care way!
All that’s left to say is: Long Live the King!
